Saturday 21st May
“Moving swiftly away from Wembley we had a quick blast to Chelsea, who had declined to get back to us during our planning phases. As we cycled in we were chased by what looked like a Keystone Cop version of a SWAT team. It wasn’t until afterwards that we realised that Chelsea had a cycle free ground. After one of the team was clearly trying to resist arrest (it wasn’t Mick or Johno) Scotty had managed to sweet talk one of the pursuers that we were actually decent guys and that we would appreciate a look around the ground. Fast forward 10 minutes and we were sat in the home team dressing room, the press room, manager’s suite and pitch side. Well done Scotty!”

Studs 'N' Spokes....Marshall Sponsor the Premier League Stadia Challenge 2011
Marshall Specialist Vehicles, a Marshall Land Systems Company, and Marshall Motor Group are proud to be supporting The Premier League Stadia Challenge 2011.
From 16th – 22nd May, during the last week of the football season, three Warrant Officers from the headquarters of the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (REME) are bravely attempting to cycle to each of the Premier League football clubs.
The riders, WO1 (ASM) Mark Schorah, WO1 (ASM) Mick Cotton and WO2 Cliff ‘Johno’ Johnson will commence their journey at Newcastle’s St James’ Park whereby Newcastle are playing their last Premier League match against West Bromich Albion, and finish on 22nd May at Tottenham Hotspur’s White Hart Lane whereby Tottenham are playing against Birmingham.
This is a substantial challenge for all participating as the journey exceeds 600 miles, equating to over 7 days of endurance!
The aim is to raise money for 4 charities; the Army Benevolent Fund, Disabled Football, the REME Benevolent Fund and Growing Places, a charity that cares for adults with learning disabilities.
Marshall Specialist Vehicles has contributed £2500 for both the training kit and the kit that will be worn on the day of the challenge, whilst Marshall Motor Group has donated two Land Rover vehicles that will be used by the back-up team.
We are confident that the cyclists will show courage and determination in order to overcome the obstacles that await them, as do members of the Armed Forces and those that have been injured triumph over difficulties each day. We sincerely wish those involved the very best of luck. For more information please visit www.studsandspokes.com
